Job Description:

West Fraser, a leader in the North American integrated wood products industry, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. The candidate will be instrumental in maintaining and improving the performance of our manufacturing equipment which includes lumber, LVL, MDF, plywood, and pulp production machinery. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, ultimately impacting production, quality, and safety standards. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities to ensure efficient operations. Troubleshoot and repair any mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems within the production facility to minimize downtime. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust as necessary. Collaborate with plant management and other team members to coordinate maintenance and repair work. Respond to emergency machine breakdowns during and outside of standard working hours as needed. Maintain cleanliness of work area and adhere to company safety standards at all times. Assist in the implementation of ongoing process improvements and technical projects. Proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems repair Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations within a manufacturing environment Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance procedures Solid problem-solving and communication skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) or equivalent preferred Electrical certification or license may be required depending on specific job duties
