In support of our client, a large metals manufacturer for the oil
and gas industry, we are seeking an experienced Level II Desktop
Support Technician located in Shreveport, LA. This is a contract,
consulting opportunity.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Level II Desktop Support Technician is responsible for
analyzing and evaluating software requirements and creating test
plans and test cases for validation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This professional executes test cases, writes defect reports, and
participates in the execution of automated test cases where
appropriate.
Perform automated performance and latency analysis identifying root
causes.
Write unit and automated test for high availability and highly
scalable applications which will be used by both internal and
external customers.
Design & develop test scenarios that accurately gauge product
quality.
Solve incidents, requests, or change requests transferred from the
central Helpdesk, prioritizing the activities in line with the
definitions made by the Information Technology department.
Make proposals to higher support levels for changes, corrections,
and updates to documents, adding experience gathered through
problem solving.
Develop a plan of continuous improvement for service, enabling the
possibility to improve the result to end users, and reducing
costs.
Provide local, on-site support to our client supporting users.
Check with managers to ensure service levels are reached and set up
a plan to solve issues that may occur and will provide preventive
support on user equipment based on standard procedures.
Fulfill procedures tending to generate metrics to allow service
evaluation, control and manage IT inventory (Asset Management) in
accordance with procedures, and update information and the status
of assigned tasks through tools defined by client.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
5 years of advanced level Information Technology Systems
experience.
Technically Skilled
Troubleshooting applications, network, and systems
