Second shift is paid shift differential of $1.00. Vacation available after 90 day probation, benefits available on day one of employment, benefits include medical, dental, vision, company paid short term disability after a waiting period and 401K.

Position Description

SUMMARY:

Basic functions for coil preparation on the batch, monorail and the crating process by performing the following duties.

DUTIES:

Opens/Closes crates or containers containing coils or other customer products.

Inspects coils for any signs of damage or conditions related to quality assurance/quality control.

Attaches identifying tags or labels to coils or marks information on crates, pallets, or other containers.

Reads work order or follows oral instructions of lead person to ascertain coils or containers to be moved, hung or crated in the work area.

Secures or removes lifting attachments.

Lifts coils, by hand, as necessary to load or unload load/basket bars or monorail hang points.

Follows published work instructions, quality procedures, and safety protocols.

Cleans work area and equipment as instructed.

Substitutes for material handlers in other work areas as needed.

Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

COMPETENCIES:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

Analytical - Understand the concepts of cable cleaning, proper grounding, capping and taping, coil quality inspection, coil combing and coil hanging/removal techniques.

Technical Skills - Ability to understand workflow through production areas, be observant for coil defects before and after e-coat, perform paint touch-up as needed, and operate basic hand tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to work any shift. Weekend work and or overtime may be required. Prompt work ethic and good attendance is required.

Education and or Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or entry level, prefer three to nine months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills - Ability to read and understand safety instructions, work instructions, and company policies and procedures.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
