Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Worker to provide essential care and assistance to individuals in need. Duties

* Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and meal preparation.
* Provide home community care and support for individuals with varying needs, including those with dementia.
* Monitor and document vital signs as required, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
* Administer medications as prescribed, adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality and safety.
* Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities.
* Observe and report any changes in clients' conditions or behaviors to appropriate personnel.
* Implement first aid procedures when necessary, ensuring the safety of all clients.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including cooking nutritious meals as needed.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.

Skills

* Experience in home community care or assisted living environments is preferred.
* Knowledge of dementia care practices and patient observation techniques.
* Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable.
* Proficiency in medication administration while adhering to safety protocols.
* Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
