Position Summary:

Trane Technologies in Tyler, TX is hiring an Inventory Control Supervisor. The Inventory Control Supervisor leads a team of Inventory Control Analysts, with the responsibility of ensuring the accuracy of warehouse and plant inventory balances.  This position will perform in-depth analysis of Operations inventory to provide both tactical and strategic direction on how to meet the goals of the organization for cash management.  Managing inventory more efficiently to hit target levels of perpetual, WIP, FG, and OSMI inventory as well as velocity project to increase inventory turns while not affecting service levels negatively.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Management and maintenance of the cycle count process per standard work, including, but not limited to: selection of parts to be counted, cycle count method and technique, reconciliation of counts to perpetual records, root cause analysis for errors, process change requests to reach 95%+ Perfect Location Accuracy.
  • Drives inventory level improvements through the implementation of projects with cross functional teams in sourcing, materials, and production. 
  • Utilization of project management skills to implement lean management efforts to increase velocity and minimize inventory levels.
  • Analyzes overall performance of forecast / purchasing model for operations
  • Deploys lean techniques and other inventory management tasks such as: segmentation, stratification, ABC, inventory modeling, use of pareto analysis, statistical SS analysis, and other item master settings such as MOQ, order period, etc.
  • Work with sourcing and materials to drives performance in supply base to implement SOMI, VMI, JIT, and other tools to reduce inventory and increase turns.
  • Establishes targets for each inventory business segment and determine/monitor actions to achieve targets.
  • Creates/establishes and owns/operates the action plans, countermeasures, and other critical inventory reports.
  • Works to develop a warehousing strategy to increase picking efficiencies, storage locations, and warehouse rationalization
  • Percentage of Travel: 10

Key Competencies and Success Factors:

  • Problem-Solving: Balances inventory investment and procurement costs against customer service levels to insure we maintain the highest customer satisfaction levels with a minimum asset investment. This must be accomplished through a good understanding of purchasing and forecasting strategies combined with a strong project management skill set. Uses data analysis and excellent processes to help predict problem areas and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Analytical: Superior analytical skills
  • Computer: High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Alteryx, Access, Excel, etc.)
  • Communication: Strong written, oral communication, and presentation skills

Experience and Skills Required:

  • BA/BS degree in Supply Chain or similar field (preferred, but not required)
  • 2+ years experience with inventory control or cycle counting preferred
  • Excel experience required
  • Alteryx and Oracle experience preferred
  • Leadership experience preferred
