Responsibilities Responsibilities and duties for the Fiber/OSP Map
inspector role will be to conduct, on foot, field inspection of
existing OSP, Coax, Fiber networks. The inspectors will be tasked
with comparing the provided maps versus the existing
telecommunication assets present in the field, the inspector will
annotate all As-Built revisions on the provided map, and produce a
supporting report at the end of each day. The employee will be
tasked with working independently, coordinate remotely with the
project coordination team and collaborate with the design group on
his findings. Requirements
- Be on site during all inspection activities, be physically fit
to walk 10-15 miles per day to conduct the physical inspection for
all aerial and underground telecommunication assets installed in
the assigned area.
- Check and verify all equipment types, locations and routing
across the assigned areas. Check and verify the installation of
materials and equipment.
- Complete as-builts (as 'Field Marks' on prints) for all aerial
and underground projects; providing all details requested by
Utility that include, but are not limited to: Attachment type,
attachment locations, and location of all installed underground
facilities. Ensure Field Marked Prints (FMP) are sent to the
appropriate Utility personnel within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain required reporting documents
- Attend meetings, events, or training(s) as required by
TechServ
- Complete all safety & production forms, in full, daily and mail
in this information to the appropriate project coordinator.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent required
- Proficient in standard construction practices and familiar with
safe operation of construction equipment and familiarity with
Telecom Construction
- Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with internal and
external clients at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and work in a
fast-paced, changing environment
- Able to travel for the majority of the work. Personnel will be
required to maintain a continuous presence on assignments
- Be of adequate physical condition to withstand outdoor work,
walk 10-15 miles/day and wear all required PPE
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid
driver's license.
- Must be able to be able to pass a drug screen, background
check, and MVR check. Measures of Success
- Ability to interface with sponsors at all levels
- Able to perform As Built reviews of telecommunication network
maps, coordinate with design teams and provide detailed reports and
annotations from the field inspection
- Flexible and performs well in a high-energy, changing
environment
- Works with minimum supervision
