Locum Tenens Opportunity: Pediatric Hospitalist Near Merit, TX We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Hospitalist for a locum tenens position near Merit, TX. Position Overview: Specialty : Hospitalist - Pediatrics Location : Near Merit, TX Start Date : ASAP End Date : Ongoing Position Type : Locum Tenens Coverage Type : Call Only EMR System : Meditech Practice Setting : Inpatient Key Responsibilities: Inpatient Care : Provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients in an inpatient setting. Manage and oversee pediatric patients in a 3-bed pediatric unit and a 14-bed nursery. Call Coverage : 24-hour call shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m., ensuring continuous care for pediatric patients. Be available for admissions and other inpatient needs during on-call hours. Participate in both patient rounding and emergency care as needed. Practice Details: Certification and Licensure : Board Certification : Required for the Pediatric Hospitalist role. Licensure : Must be licensed in Texas or eligible for licensure through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC). Certifications : BLS and PALS certifications are required; ABLS, ACLS, and ATLS are not necessary. Credentialing Timeframe : Estimated at 30 days. Facility Support : The hospital is experiencing a shortage of pediatricians and currently has only two part-time physicians. This creates a significant need for reliable locum tenens coverage.
