An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in Stepdown care to provide exceptional patient support in a dynamic hospital setting. This contract position is based in Columbus, Indiana, offering a rewarding environment for RNs comfortable working across Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and MedSurg areas with a diverse patient population. Responsibilities include comprehensive patient care involving interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post-cardiac surgery care, and advanced line management including arterial, central, and PICC lines. The role also demands proficiency in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, blood product administration, and ventilator management. Experience or familiarity with advanced cardiac support devices such as Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD/RVAD), and other cardiac interventions is highly valued. Charge nurse experience will be considered a plus. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Minimum 18 months nursing experience preferred Active ACLS and BCLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred Comfortable working with complex cardiovascular surgical and medical patients Ability to float across PCU and MedSurg units as needed Must obtain Indiana RN license, compact license, or temporary permit prior to starting Availability to work every other weekend and two out of three major holidays Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with prior exposure to telemetry units Shift Information: Night shifts, 3x12-hour rotations from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am Location Overview: Columbus, Indiana, is a vibrant city known for its architectural innovation and friendly community atmosphere.
