Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A clinical nursing opportunity is available for experienced RNs skilled in stepdown care with a focus on cardiac patients. This contract position offers a chance to work in a specialized unit catering to adults and geriatrics with complex cardiac conditions, providing a challenging and rewarding environment for nursing professionals. Responsibilities and Duties: Provide expert nursing care on a cardiac progressive (stepdown) unit with an 8-bed capacity. Manage patient ratios of approximately 1:3-4 during shifts. Care for patients with cardiac diagnoses including cardiothoracic surgical cases, excluding fresh open heart patients for travelers. Float as needed to ICU, CPU, and PCU, with occasional assignments to Medical/Surgical Telemetry units. Utilize Omnicell for medication administration and document patient care via the EPIC system. Administer continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation when required (preferred). Monitor and manage dysrhythmias and care for ventilated patients as part of daily duties. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current RN licensure with at least 2 years of relevant experience in a stepdown or similar acute care setting. Minimum skill proficiency level of 3 or 4 in dysrhythmia interpretation and management. ACLS and BCLS certification required; CCRN certification preferred. Proven ability to care for ventilated patients and manage sedation protocols preferred. Schedule: Day shifts onlyfour 12-hour shifts per week (07:00 - 19:00). Weekend shifts include 6 shifts in a 6-week cycle.
