CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse License: Valid RN License
Certifications: PALS, BLS Must-Have: - 1 year of Pediatric
CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse - 3-4 contracts in a
dedicated pediatric CICU - 2 years minimum PICU experience as a
staff nurse - Experience in caring for patients with congenital
heart disease - Experience in post-operative management of CHD
patients - Experience in management of arterial lines, central
lines, transthoracic lines Description: The unit has a total of 27
beds and 90 staff members. The team cares for ICU and step-down
level patients for continuity of care. On day shift, there are 2
charges for each unit (ICU and step down), 1 PCT, and RNs based on
census and acuity needs. On night shift, 2 charges are also present
for each unit, with PCT and RNs based on census and acuity
requirements. Patient ratios vary from 1:2, 1:1, to sometimes 1:3.
The unit is equipped with IV pumps, beds, cribs, radiant warmers,
and various medical machines. The electronic medical record system
used is Meditech. Typical procedures performed include central line
and arterial line placement, conscious sedation,
intubation/extubation, post-operative recovery, sternal closures,
and ECMO procedures. Candidates must possess a compassionate and
empathetic approach to care. Hardworking team players who are
meticulous and adaptable will excel in this environment. Rotating
weekends are required, with no call obligations. Requirements
