ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Lufkin, Texas. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 01/26/2026 - Duration: 9 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - ICU Job Details: • Work 12-hour shifts: Days 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or Nights 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM • Expected to work 4 shifts per week • Every other weekend requirement based on coverage needs • Holiday requirements depend on coverage • Float between 2 critical care units: 24-bed ICU and 26-bed PCU (Progressive Care Unit) • Patient ratios: 2:1 in ICU (occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity), 4:1 in PCU • Care for cardiac patients post CABG or PCI, sepsis, DKA, and respiratory failure patients • Critical care experience required • Must be comfortable titrating drips including Levophed, amiodarone, heparin, precedex, propofol, cardene, nitro, neosynephrine, and dopamine • Work with ventilators, BiPAP, and Airvo equipment • Use bedside monitors and monitor bank at charge desk with Monitor Tech support • Required certifications: ACLS and BLS • Navy blue scrubs required • New employee orientation first week with orientation shifts on both ICU and PCU • Use Allscripts charting system • BSN not required • No call or standby requirements • Occasional floating to other departments if necessary • Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks Facility: This healthcare facility features comprehensive critical care services with dedicated ICU and Progressive Care Units supported by in-house intensivists during the day and hospitalists around the clock.
