Step into a hospital-based GI role in Lufkin, TX , offering premium pay and flexibility — with no outpatient work and a manageable patient load. This is an ERCP-required assignment ideal for a gastroenterologist who thrives in a focused, inpatient setting and prefers not to juggle clinic duties. What You’ll Be Doing: Inpatient GI consults and procedures only – No clinic/outpatient 24-hour call coverage, average ~4 callback hours/week Cases include: GI bleeds, abdominal pain, food bolus, SBO, ulcers, gastritis, etc. No cancer treatment or long-term care Up to 10 patients/day to round on, plus procedures as needed ERCP is required Patients are admitted by hospitalists Supported by endoscopy-trained GI nurses and anesthesia backup Sedation: Conscious sedation preferred when possible EMR: Paragon (switching to Epic in late 2026) Pay Details: $3,000/24hr call (4 hours gratis) Callback Holiday Call Holiday Callback rates additional Orientation paid after 8 hours of training Dates Needing Coverage: 2025: Nov 10–17 Nov 24–Dec 1 Dec 8–12 Dec 22–Jan 1 2026: Jan 1–5 Mar 9–13 Apr 13–20 Aug 3–7 Aug 31–Sep 7 Sep 14–18 Oct 12–16 Nov 9–13 Dec 7–11 Providers available for 1 weeks per month are encouraged to apply! ?
