Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Lufkin, TX Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,930 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 9 Weeks Start Date: 1/26/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU/PCU Float Duration: 9 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Critical care experience Ability to titrate drips Description: Will float between two critical care and step-down units. The ICU has 24 beds, while the PCU has 26 beds. Staff ratios are typically 2:1, and occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity; 4:1 in PCU. Common patient diagnoses include cardiac patients post-CABG or PCI, sepsis, DKA, and respiratory failure. RNs are required to titrate drips, including Levophed, Amiodarone, Heparin, Precedex, Propofol, Cardene, Nitro, Neosynephrine, and Dopamine. There is a charge nurse on the floor, with a house supervisor available on each shift. No nursing aids are normally present in the ICU; 1-2 may be in PCU per shift. An intensivist is in-house during the day, while hospitalists are available at all hours. Respiratory therapy is available in the ICU 24/7. Available equipment includes vents, BiPap, and Airvo. Bedside monitors are in use, alongside a monitor bank at the charge desk. A monitor tech is on site. Expect to work four shifts a week. Weekend requirements usually involve every other weekend. There is no call or standby requirement. Floating may be necessary, with expectations to work in ICU or PCU and occasionally other departments. A navy blue scrubs dress code is enforced. New employee orientation includes an introductory week followed by orientation shifts in each ICU and PCU. Cancellation policy applies: four shifts for assignments of 13 weeks or more, three shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks. Charting system used is Allscripts. BSN is not required.
