Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 07/14/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description – Med/Surg RN (2 West C Unit) Start Date: ASAP (based on Aya offer) Experience Required: Minimum 2 years First-Time Travelers: Not accepted Patient Ratio: 1:6 Unit Beds: 16 Floating: Required to units of equal or lower acuity Weekend Requirement: Half of the scheduled shifts Certifications Required: BLS (AHA) Preferred Certification: NIH Stroke Scale EMR System: Proficiency in Epic (required) Required Skills: - General Med/Surg care - Use of Rapid Response Teams - Colostomy and Feeding Tube care - Blood product administration - Central and peripheral line management - PICC line management - Medication administration (Heparin, Insulin, PCA) - Oxygen therapy (nasal cannula, face masks, portable oxygen tanks) - Oral suctioning - Strict adherence to isolation precautions Local Candidate Restrictions: Candidates residing in the following counties are not eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, Morris. Unit Overview: 2 West C is a 16-bed Medical-Surgical unit with telemetry capabilities, consisting of 12 private and 2 semi-private rooms. The unit primarily serves patients with vascular disease and may also accommodate medical-surgical and telemetry overflow patients. Patient population includes young adults through geriatrics.
