Responsibilities
Our -UT Health Tyler -hospital is seeking an experienced -Certified
Surgical Tech, Full Time. - We are looking for your experience,
knowledge and patient care skills in our -Main OR/ -Surgery -where
you will be responsible for: -What You Will Be Doing:
- Assist the RN in identifying needs relative to individual
patient assessment and age-specific requirements from infants to
geriatrics
- Perform a variety of routine/complex procedures with confidence
and competence
- Utilize equipment, instruments and supplies in accordance with
standard operating procedures to facilitate expected outcome for
patients
- Participate in CQI by collecting and monitoring data for
performance improvement to produce quality and excellent patient
outcome
- Provide good customer service by utilizing good communication
skills and technical knowledge to ensure objectives are
maintained
- Maintain skills and knowledge through training and continuing
education to provide expected standards of care
- Act as a resource and role model for new staff and
students
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures while carrying
out duties and responsibilities as identified
Qualifications
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology
programExperience:
- Customer friendly
- Must be in good health and able to physically complete a
fitness assessment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Active listening, hearing and visual skills
- Must use written and/or verbal sources of information
- Good problem solving skills
- Basic personal computer skills and comfort with Microsoft
Windows operating system; database and word processing skills
required
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to think strategically and act tactically
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time
- Ability to embrace the client relationship to guide decisions
and actions
- Demonstrates good team workCertification and Licensure:
- Current certification with one of the following: the National
Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, the National
Center for Competency Testing, or another surgical technologist
certification program approved by the Texas Department of State
Health Services
- CPR certified -Compliance Requirements
- Comply with regulatory requirements, guidelines, and
