of a quarter-million people. POSITIONSUMMARY: The Registered Nurse
is responsible for delivery ofpatient care through the nursing
process of assessment, planning,implementation, and evaluation.
This position is responsible forthe following: * Directing and
coordinating all nursing care forpatients based on established
clinical nursing practice standards.* Collaborating with other
professional disciplines to ensureeffective and efficient patient
care delivery and the achievementof desired patient outcomes. *
Contributing to the provision ofquality nursing care through
performance improvement techniquesthat demonstrate positive
outcomes in patient care. What You WillBe Doing: 1. Deliver
individualized, goal-directed nursing careusing a systematic
approach and according to standards of care,facility's code of
conduct compliance, and policy in collaborationwith patients and
interdisciplinary healthcare team members: *Collect patient's
health data. * Analyze assessment data indetermining patient
problems. * Identify expected outcomesindividualized to the
patient. * Develop a comprehensive plan ofcare that prescribes
interventions to attain expected outcomes. *Implement interventions
identified in the plan of care. * Evaluatepatient's progress toward
attainment of outcomes. * Assist with theplan of care, evaluate,
modify and coordinate care and communicatewell with other
disciplines. * Serve as a resource for learningneeds of patients,
significant others, and families. * Provide forthe care of multiple
patients and/or delegation of care to othermembers of the
healthcare team. * Supervise nursing care providedby others for
whom the RN is administratively or professionallyresponsible. *
Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel in compliancewith the Board
of Nursing. * Document relevant data according tohospital
standards. * Conduct discharge planning, assisting
thepatient/significant others to obtain knowledge about
illness,injury prevention, and teaching. * Maintain confidentiality
withall information. 2. Systematically evaluate quality and
factorsrelating to safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning
anddelivering patient care: * Participate in quality of
careactivities such as the implementation of a continuous
qualityimprovement plan and the hospital wide performance
improvementprocess, as appropriate to position, education and
practiceenvironment. * Utilize results of quality of care
activities toinitiate changes in practice. 3. Implement Infection
Control,Safety and Risk Management Programs in all nursing
practices. 4.Demonstrate ability to adapt to varied age-specific
patientpopulations. 5. Acquire and maintain current knowledge in
nursingpractice, for example: * Complete mandatory annual
LearningManagement System modules in a timely manner. * Attend
departmentalmeetings per policy. 6. Contribute to professional
development ofpeers, colleagues and others, for example. Recognize
own learningneeds and those of peers and assists in meeting those
needs tomaximize professional development and optimal
medical/surgicalnursing practice. 7. Assume all other duties and
responsibilitiesas necessary: * Identify and/or assume activities
related todevelopmental needs of unit and/or nursing department.
*Demonstrate dependability/flexibility in meeting scheduling
needsof unit and/or hospital. * Accept assignment as preceptor for
newstaff. * Assure supplies and equipment necessary for the care
ofpatients is readily available and in working order.
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS: Education: * Associates Degree in
Nursing (AND) orBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an
accredited school.Experience: * Prefer 2 years of nursing
experience in an acute caresetting. * Position requires fluency in
English language tofunction in job environment appropriately. *
Good interpersonal,communication, team-work, and customer service
skills. * Goodorganizational, problem-solving and follow-through
skills. *Ability to multi-task constantly, react to
changesquickly/productively, and tolerate interruptions. * Ability
toperform work when no directions are given, and give directions
toothers. * Remain flexible, organized, professional and able
toanalyze, make sound decisions under stressful or crisis
situations.* Demonstrate knowledge of current computer systems,
equipment orprograms used in the organization. * Demonstrate
maturity andaccountability. Certification and Licensure: *
Completion ofeducation to obtain Licensure as a Registered Nurse
(RN). * ACLScertification preferred. * BLS required * PALS
Certification(preferred but not required). Compliance Requirements
