Job Title: Network Engineer
Location: Tyler, TX OR Bethpage, NY
Duration: 12 Month - Day 1 Onsite

Job Details:

• Performs engineering activities such as provisioning and design of circuits, circuit testing, device OS upgrade, documentation conformance.
  • 1. Working knowledge IP networks
  • 2. Layer 2 (802.1Q, QnQ) provisioning experience over fiber network
  • 3. Service Provider industry experience
  • Resource will login to equipment to provision Layer 2 services for customer orders over fiber network. These services are primarily at the Access layer of the network or the Distribution port to Access layer. Secondary Skills:
    • 1. MPLS K&E
    • 2. MPLS-TE K&E
    • 3. Inventory tool K&E (e.g. Netcracker / Granite)
    • 4. General Cisco CLI knowledge & experience
    • 5. RFC2544 / Y.1564 / Wireshark testing experience
    • 6. Circuit design K&E
    • Resource will use these skills for a higher level knowledge and provisioning of the circuits.
    • These skills assist in the provisioning, design and implementation at the Core and Distribution levels of the network.
    • In addition, familiarity with industry accepted testing methodologies is needed.
