Job Description:
Description POSITION PURPOSE: The Payroll Analyst is responsible
for supporting accurate and timely payroll processing while
ensuring compliance with all applicable wage and tax regulations.
This role serves as a key operational partner to HR and Finance,
managing day-to-day payroll activities, resolving employee
inquiries, and ensuring data integrity within the payroll system.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Daily Responsibilities
(Ongoing Throughout the Pay Period) Respond to employee payroll
inquiries, including pay discrepancies, basic tax questions, and
direct deposit issues Monitor and audit timekeeping data to ensure
accuracy and compliance with company policies and labor laws Audit
new hires, terminations, and employee changes within HRIS/payroll
system Process and validate employee tax elections, deductions, and
garnishments (e.g., W-4 updates, benefits changes) Partner with HR
to support pay adjustments, retroactive changes, and off-cycle
payroll needs Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and
local payroll regulations Review and resolve system alerts,
including discrepancies across integrated systems Support Finance
with labor reporting and ad hoc payroll-related data requests
Payroll Processing Responsibilities Process payroll in accordance
with established deadlines Reconcile payroll calculations
(gross-to-net) to ensure accuracy prior to submission Review
payroll reports, including pay registers, deduction registers, and
tax liabilities Validate final payroll outputs and assist with
confirming funding for payroll and tax obligations Review and
validate timecards and exception reports prior to payroll
processing Validate data imports, including bonuses, commissions,
and pay differentials Audit employee changes for each pay cycle
(new hires, compensation changes, terminations) Distribute payroll
reports to Finance and HR as needed Assist in the preparation and
review of payroll journal entries for general ledger posting
Support resolution of post-payroll issues, including adjustments,
reversals, and manual checks Post-Payroll & Reporting
Responsibilities Reconcile payroll funding accounts and assist in
verifying tax payments, garnishments, BLS reporting, and related
inquiries Audit payroll reports for compliance with tax and
garnishment requirements Generate labor distribution and allocation
reports for Finance Assist with monthly and quarterly
reconciliations Research and resolve payroll discrepancies
identified by internal stakeholders Prepare data and system updates
for upcoming payroll cycles Participate in cross-functional
meetings with HR, Finance, Benefits, and other internal teams
minimum qualifications A minimum of 3-5 years of previous payroll
experience required Previous experience with Paycom HRIS is
strongly preferred Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax
regulations, and compliance requirements High attention to detail
with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage
multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Strong
